BamBam: From Bangkok to Global K-Pop Stardom
Kunpimook Bhuwakul, also known as BamBam (Thai: แบมแบม), is a Thai rapper, singer, songwriter, and entertainer who was born in Bangkok, Thailand, on May 2, 1997. He is 28 years old (as of 2025) and 178 cm (5’10”) tall. He is one of the most well-known international members of K-pop as a member of the boy group GOT7. BamBam is known for his charming stage presence, sharp rap skills, and stylish persona. He has successfully moved on to a successful solo career while still being close to his group.
Early Life and How They Got into K-Pop
BamBam grew up in Bangkok. His mother loved Korean artist Rain, which got him interested in K-pop. He started singing and dancing when he was 10 years old and joined the dance group We Zaa Cool with Lisa, who would later become a member of BLACKPINK. JYP Entertainment found him and brought him to South Korea as a trainee in 2010. He trained for about three and a half years. “BamBam” is his stage name, and it comes from the character Bamm-Bamm Rubble from The Flintstones.
Before making his debut, BamBam was on the 2013 survival show WIN: Who Is Next with future GOT7 members Mark, Jackson, and Yugyeom.
GOT7 Career
The song “Girls Girls Girls” was BamBam’s first single with GOT7. It came out on January 16, 2014. He was the group’s main rapper and dancer, and he helped them make their signature martial arts-infused performances and hits on several albums. GOT7 became famous all over the world, but they had to deal with some problems. In 2021, all of the members left JYP Entertainment, but they promised to stay together.
GOT7 released their comeback album Winter Heptagon in January 2025. This was their first group release in years and showed that they were still close.
