Paris Berelc: Rising Star in Acting and Modeling
Paris MaryJo Berelc is an American actress, model, and former elite gymnast who was born on December 29, 1998. She is best known for her breakout roles in Disney XD’s superhero comedies and Netflix’s heartfelt sitcoms. Berelc has gone from being a child star to a versatile leading lady in movies and TV shows thanks to her dynamic energy, athletic background, and charming on-screen presence. At 26 years old in 2025, she is still building a diverse career and fighting for causes like ending human trafficking.
Early Life and Starting Out in Sports
Joe and Maria Berelc had Paris Berelc in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her father is French-Canadian, and her mother is European-Filipino, so Berelc has a mixed heritage that includes Filipino ancestry. She is the oldest of four sisters: Bless, who wants to be an actress; Joelie, who plays sports and does gymnastics; and Skye, who does both.
Berelc found out she loved performing at a young age. She started dancing when she was four years old and switched to gymnastics when she was six. She quickly became one of the best Level 10 gymnasts in the United States. Her hard training helped her become more disciplined and physically strong, which would come in handy later when she had to do action-oriented jobs.
When she was 9, a modeling scout saw her talent and signed her to a contract with Ford Models in Chicago. She was on the cover of American Girl magazine’s November/December 2009 issue and in ads for big stores like Kohl’s, Boston Store, Sears, and K-Mart. Berelc started taking acting classes at the Acting Studio Chicago when he was 12 years old. Her family moved to Los Angeles in 2013, when she was only 14, to help her with her acting career.
Disney XD Breakthrough (2013–2016)
In 2013, Berelc got her big break when she was cast as Skylar Storm, a superhero from another planet with amazing powers, in Disney XD’s Mighty Med (2013–2015). The role let her show off her gymnastics skills in high-energy fight scenes and stunts.
Berelc played Skylar again in the spinoff Lab Rats: Elite Force (2016), which was a crossover with characters from Lab Rats. She played Molly in the Disney Channel Original Movie Invisible Sister that same year, with Rowan Blanchard.
The Netflix Era and Success in the Mainstream (2018–Present)
Berelc got her biggest role so far in 2018 as Alexa Mendoza, a high school basketball player with cancer, in Netflix’s multi-camera sitcom Alexa & Katie (2018–2020). The show, which starred Isabel May and was nominated for an Emmy, ran for four seasons and was praised for how real it made friendship and resilience.
Modeling and the Power of Social Media
Berelc is a social media influencer with a loyal following, and she also has a successful modeling career. She talks about fashion, fitness, skincare, and health, and she often shares her gymnastics-based workout plans. As a Filipino-American, she is proud of her roots and inspires young fans in sports and entertainment.
Life and Advocacy
Berelc has been in relationships with a number of actors, such as Aramis Knight (2013–2015), Jake Short (2016), Peyton Meyer (2017), Jack Griffo (2017–2020), and Rhys Athayde (from 2020). She still doesn’t talk about her relationship status or kids as of 2025.
She is very interested in giving back, especially through groups like Polaris Project that work to stop human trafficking. Berelc also likes to write in her free time and does reiki.
The Past and the Future
Paris Berelc is determined and adaptable. She went from being a Level 10 gymnast in Milwaukee gyms to starring in Netflix originals. She is now in her mid-20s and is part of a new generation of multi-talented people who combine sports, acting, and activism. Berelc’s star is still rising in Hollywood, with new projects on the way.
