Born in Kyoto in 1993, Amity Sensei is one of the largest internet influencers within the sphere of digital art and productivity in Japan. Amity was educated at a Kyoto high school specialising in fine arts and crafts and studied Digital and Technological Art at the University for the Creative Arts in the United Kingdom after graduation. She was a student in London when she began using the iPad for design work and became the top Japanese blogger in the city. After returning to Japan, she polished her skills as an art director at the country’s leading advertising agencies, including foreign-capital companies such as TBWA\HAKUHODO.
In 2019, craving more freedom and inspired by a love of sharing the joys of iPad creativity, Amity went independent and launched her YouTube channel. Her content is distinguished by its elegant, functional demonstrations, showing viewers how to draw, design, take notes, and even run professional workflows, all on the iPad. She is passionate about accessibility and often points out that “even if you’re not an artist, you can make beautiful work” with the proper tools and methods. This philosophy attracts a broad audience, from novices to experienced creatives.

She is the founder of iPadmate, an online salon and school with classes for adults and children, including Japan’s first dedicated iPad creative school for elementary students, iPadmate Kids.
